Nineteen

Today I came home to balloons

We had a lovely dinner

Because of the rain it was a picnic on the porch

There was much love

And some cake

And we watched an episode I love of Jeeves and Wooster
And friends came over to "do homework"

We planned our outfits for tomorrow
We really worked on our homework
We danced around
And forgot to do our pushups
Sang the song we've had stuck in our heads all week

And now I'm a year older
It was a lovely way to make the transition

Would that everyone were so lucky as they stepped into nineteen
